At the start of this year, I find myself looking at the world through new eyes-literally!

 

During the last few years, my focus has shifted from weaving to watercolor abstracts, to book arts, to printmaking, to this current expression of creativity. Earlier, I'd started experimenting with acrylic monoprints, playing with textures/color and quickly accumulating a pile of papers. They felt directionless - until I had the epiphany to appreciate them for themselves.

 

Working on a stretched canvas frame, I now use these unique papers as I would paint out of a tube, cutting them to the shapes I want, to create the images I want. Each piece is then glued down and the painting is sealed when complete.
